WEBVTT

1
00:00:00.000 --> 00:00:05.889
The opportunities lost by previous generations cannot be recovered for them.

2
00:00:05.889 --> 00:00:11.777
The living generation can still build stronger foundations for itself and

3
00:00:11.777 --> 00:00:14.454
for people who come next.

4
00:00:14.454 --> 00:00:20.343
Community inheritance can include housing, land, water and energy systems, transportation,

5
00:00:20.343 --> 00:00:25.696
communications, productive enterprises, knowledge, community capability and accountable democratic structures.

6
00:00:25.696 --> 00:00:31.585
The pathway is to build, retain, reinvest, protect, improve and pass

7
00:00:31.585 --> 00:00:32.120
forward.

8
00:00:32.120 --> 00:00:35.868
These outcomes require good governance and evidence.

9
00:00:35.868 --> 00:00:40.150
They are an intergenerational direction, not a guarantee.
